This year marks the 60 th anniversary of India's independence. As it reflects on its past, it is also left to consider a future marked with a burgeoning population and critical questions about nutrition and water quality, technology, its cultural heritage, and its national security. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign takes honor in embracing and examining these critical issues in India and around the world. With its extensive record of partnership and engagement with the people of India, Illinois is proud to host India Sixty: The Critical Questions, a symposium designed to look at solutions to India's future challenges, on Nov. 2-3 at the Illini Union. Along with faculty experts and researchers from Illinois, authorities and dignitaries from around the U.S. and India will convene in six panel discussions looking at these issues.
